We are looking for someone who can turn an organization's day-to-day impact into stories people genuinely want to read, watch, and share.
The ideal candidate will shape how the organization is represented across its website, newsletters, social media, events, and the media. Working closely with teams on the ground, you will create authentic, engaging content that reflects the real work being done every day.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about sustainability communication and wants to use their writing and creative skills to increase awareness and engagement around meaningful environmental initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Shaping the bigger picture
Develop the organization's annual communications strategy and translate it into practical monthly and quarterly plans aligned with business goals.
Identify meaningful stories and ensure the organization's impact reaches the right audiences through effective communication.
2. Keeping the digital presence active
Manage and update the organization's website by keeping project pages, impact metrics, blogs, and reports current, while collaborating with developers to improve functionality and user experience.
Create engaging newsletters that highlight achievements, partnerships, projects, and the people behind the work.
Lead the organization's social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube, with a strong focus on building a credible and engaging LinkedIn presence.
3. Protecting and building the brand
Ensure all communications and marketing materials consistently follow brand guidelines, from presentations and proposals to digital content and social media.
Develop templates and communication assets that enable teams to produce on-brand materials efficiently.
4. Bringing events to life
Lead the planning, branding, media coordination, and vendor management for corporate events, project launches, CSR initiatives, conferences, awareness campaigns, and press events.
Oversee event communications before, during, and after each event, including content creation, media engagement, and post-event reporting.
5. Running impactful campaigns
Plan and execute communication campaigns across various organizational initiatives and programs, ensuring messaging is aligned with strategic objectives and reaches the intended audience.
6. Creating compelling content
Develop high-quality communication materials, including articles, blogs, press releases, case studies, annual reports, impact reports, corporate presentations, and other publications that represent the organization externally.
7. Supporting business development
Collaborate with the business development team to create compelling communication materials for partnership opportunities, including brochures, case studies, client presentations, and proposal content.
8. Building media relationships
Develop and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets, coordinate interviews, prepare press releases, and monitor media coverage to strengthen the organization's public profile.
9. Measuring communication impact
Monitor key communication metrics, including website traffic, social media engagement, newsletter performance, campaign reach, and media coverage, and prepare regular reports with insights and recommendations for improvement.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field.
3–5 years of professional experience in communications, branding, public relations, or digital marketing.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms.
Experience managing and updating websites; WordPress experience is an advantage.
Strong understanding of LinkedIn marketing and digital communication strategies.
Experience planning and coordinating corporate events and communication campaigns.
Proficiency in design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience working with NGOs, sustainability initiatives, CSR programs, or environmental organizations is an advantage but not required.
